Energy Development Company Limited, together with its subsidiaries, generates and sells electricity from water and wind in India. The company operates through two divisions, Generating and Contract. It has 19 MW of renewable energy capacity and has 291 MW of hydroelectric projects at various stages of development. The company owns and operates 9 MW and 6 MW Harangi hydro electric power plants; and 1.5 MW wind mill at Hasssan District and 1.5 MW wind mill at Chitradurga in the state of Karnataka, as well as a 7 MW Ullankal hydro electric power project and 15 MW Karrikayam hydro electric power project in the state of Kerala. It is also executing 12 hydro electric projects in the state of Arunachal Pradesh having an aggregate capacity of approximately 555 MW; and 3 projects at Uttarakhand with an aggregate capacity of approximately 17 MW. In addition, the company is involved in the infrastructure development, such as construction of bridges, operation and maintenance of hydro projects, supply of materials, etc. Further, it develops energy and infrastructure projects for other developers; and provides consultancy services comprising turnkey solutions, operation and maintenance, and revamps of old hydro plants, as well as development of other renewable energies. Additionally, the company offers engineering, consultancy, and project management services ranging from concept and design to construction and commissioning for hydroelectric power plants; engineering, procurement, and construction services; third party power plant operations and maintenance services; and rehabilitation, renovation, modernization, and uprating consultancy and services for ageing hydro power plants.
